Zee Marathi has been presenting Uch Majha Zoka Awards for the past three years. The awards were started as a boost to the women empowerment and an aid to the organizations working for the betterment of the society. The lifetime achievement for 2016 will be presented to Naseema Hurzook, a name synonymous with the “Helpers for Handicap” organization at Kolhapur. Best social organization will be given to Bhagirath Gramvikas Pratishthan. The award ceremony will take place on 19 August at Dombivali.
The event will be telecast on 28 August on Zee Marathi. Journalist Kumar Ketkar, writer Dr. Vijaya Rajadhyaksha and Dr. Snehlata Deshmukh has worked as the panelist for this awards committee.
Naseema Hurzook has been working for the disabled people for the past four decades. Bhagirath Gramvikas has been working in the Konkan region in the field of health, environment and employment. Dr. Prasad Deodhar and Dr. Harshada Deodhar has started this NGO to make a better society and create sustainable villages through the development and growth.
